iPhone Hacked By 17 Year Old Print
The Apple iPhone has been hacked by a 17 year old American boy such that it can be used on some other networks instead of ATT (Cingular). It took some doing and was not for the faint of heart, but with a little bit of custom code, erasure of a flash memory, and some soldering the phone is now usable on T-mobile. For calls.

The iPhone may not be usable in this configuration for browsing the web and sending e-mail but it is not clear either way. The hacker, who is still in high school, says that when he starts college next year he wants to be a neuroscientist because he "wants to hack the brain."

Questions seeking comment from ATT were directed to Apple. Apple has not responded to this development.
