Search Engine Optimization or SEO is often discussed topic among business owners large and small. Nobody can guarantee you specific results unless they own a particular Search Engine or SE (Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.)
If you hear claims that someone can, we suggest you move on.
The goal of SEO is to improve, to the greatest extent possible, where your website appears in so-called SERPS (Search Engine Result Pages).
Clearly, if you sell wonderwidgets, you want your website to be on the first page, and ideally within the first 5-7 results, when someone types in "wonderwidgets" at Google or any other SE.
Hence the concept of SEO - that means optimizing your ranking and results for keywords or terms important to your business, organization or message.
If you do it wrong you may get zero results.
If you do it using so-called black-hat techniques you can find your website banned from the SEs. It does happen. Not to us. We don't use those approaches.
If you do it the right way you should always see some improvement, and if you and your SEO consultant are smart, work hard at making ethical changes and then use the correct approach going forward, your site and terms should continue to improve over time, and so should the website traffic from the SEs you are seeking.
